Introduction of the EU Entry-Exit System (EES)

The European Union is introducing the Entry-Exit System (EES) as one of the measures undertaken to achieve the objectives of the European Agenda on Security and the European Agenda on Migration to achieve higher security levels across the Union, in particular regarding border management and the prevention of cross-border crime and terrorism.

Impact on Withdrawal Agreement Beneficiary Status Holders

In order to minimise the impact on UK nationals and their family members, who are beneficiaries of the Withdrawal Agreement, the European Commission has published a set of guidelines which may be found here.

Those UK nationals and their family members, who may have the right to beneficiary status in Malta, in line with the EU UK Withdrawal Agreement, and who are not yet in possession of a valid Residence Document, are invited to send their queries in writing to brexit.identita@gov.mt. In your query, kindly include your full name and surname as they appear on the passport, your passport number and your residence document number if you ever held such document.
