In most cases, applications are reviewed within seven (7) to fifteen (15) days. In individual cases, where further scrutiny of the application is necessary, the deadline may be extended up to a maximum of 45 calendar days after the application has been considered admissible.

It is recommended not to file a visa application later than fifteen (15) days prior to a planned trip, or otherwise, it cannot be guaranteed that the application will be processed in time. Holders of multiple-entry Schengen short-stay visas can lodge a visa application before this visa has expired, provided it has been valid for at least six (6) months. Visa applications for family members of EU citizens will be assessed as soon as possible.
