Marlene Mizzi has been nominated as the new Non-Executive Chairperson of Identità.

Mizzi served as Chairperson of Sea Malta Co. Ltd between 1997 and 2005, Board member of the BOV ( 1998 -20026 ) , Board member and Chair of Malita plc (2022-2024).

 

Mizzi is a former Member of the European Parliament between 2013 and 2019, where she was a member of various committees and advocated for consumer rights, the digital economy, social issues and animal rights. Marlene Mizzi was responsible for the Mizzi Report - Digital Single Gateway – a legislative report transposed in all EU member states. She was also the main negotiator on the decrease in roaming charges in the EU and was appointed EP representative on the Brexit negotiations team. In 2018 Mizzi won the MEP of the Year award.

 

In 2020 she was appointed as the non-resident ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden and the Kingdom of Norway.

 

Ambassador Mizzi graduated with an honours degree in economics in 1976 and continued her studies at the Maastricht School of Management, where she read for an M.Phil. degree. Her field of specialisation is Corporate Governance and the Board of Directors.
