Steve Agius

Mr. Steve Agius assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer at Identità in February 2024.

Prior to this appointment, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Mater Dei Hospital, where he played a pivotal role in overseeing the coordination of the Covid-19 National Vaccination Programme.

Earlier in his career, Mr Agius held the position of Chief Information and Development Officer at the Malta Communications Authority, where he spearheaded several national initiatives aimed at fostering social cohesion and inclusion.

In addition to his executive roles, Mr. Agius is a Senior Visiting Lecturer at the University of Malta’s Faculty of Economics, Management, and Accountancy. He lectures on Social Media Strategy within the BCom programme and has developed, and lectures a module on Big Data Analytics for the MSc Strategic Management and Marketing programme.

With extensive experience as a Project Manager, Steve has led numerous large-scale projects both locally and internationally, specialising in Strategic Information Management, networking infrastructure, business transformation and process modelling.

Mr Agius is pursuing a PhD in the use of data in strategic decision-making with the University of Malta in conjunction with Liverpool John Moores University. He holds a Masters in Business Administration with a Distinction in e-Business, and a first-class computing degree from the University of Greenwich (UK).
