Overview
Residence cardholders who have changed their residence, must inform Identità in order for their residence document to include the correct residential address.
Residence cardholders who have lost their card, had it stolen or have damaged their card, must inform Identità in order for them to be issued with a new card.
What you’ll get
A new and updated residence document will be issued at no cost for EU nationals and against a fee of €27.50 for non-EU nationals when applying for a change of address.
For lost and stolen cards, a new residence document will be issued against a fee of €27.50 for non-EU nationals and €22 for EU nationals.
For damaged cards, a new residence document will be issued against a fee of €27.50 for non-EU nationals and against a fee of €16.50 for EU nationals.

How to apply
An email may be sent to eu.identita@gov.mt where an appointment will be set for the applicant to present the Changes to Application form accompanied with the documents that need to be presented during the appointment.
Documents required
- Copy of bio-data page of passport/Foreign ID Card;
- Changes to Application form;
- Copy of Existent Residence Document;
- Change of address - Copy of new property’s purchase or rental agreement;
- Lost or Stolen Cards - Valid local Police report issued within 3 days of being lost/stolen;
- Damaged Card - Present Damaged Card;
Timeline
The entire process takes approximately 30 working days.
