Identity Cards Unit

First Time Applicant

The category of First-Time applicants who can submit an application is as follows:

 

  • Persons who are 14 years and older.
  • Persons who acquired Maltese Citizenship.
  • Maltese Citizens who return to Malta with the intention of setting up permanent residence.

 

Application Process:

 

  • Either personally visit the Identity Cards Unit, fill in Form ID10 and have their biometric data captured; or
  • Fill in and submit Form ID10 available here. Applicants will be asked to visit the Identity Cards Unit to finalise their application and have their biometric data captured.
