Identità has published its Annual Report for 2025, highlighting the Agency’s continued investment in technology, digital transformation and more accessible services for citizens and residents.
During 2025, Identità registered 31,657 new virtual eID accounts, while transactions through eID reached 14.5 million. The Agency also issued 103,237 electronic Identity Cards and 53,690 passports, while the Public Registry provided 76,357 birth, marriage and death certificates, 58.2% of which were purchased online.
Accessibility remained an important priority throughout the year. Identity Card services continued to be offered through Local Councils, while collaboration with Servizz.gov increased the number of locations where Identity Cards can be collected. A total of 8,164 housebound visits were also carried out for persons with mobility difficulties.
During the year, Identità also received its third Public Service Quality Award, this time recognising the quality of service provided by the Public Registry of Malta.
The Annual Report also highlights the Agency’s continued efforts to modernise its systems and processes, strengthen engagement with stakeholders and provide services that are secure, efficient and centred on the needs of citizens and residents.
